Botanical Inspired Prints
Celebrating the lines, colours & patterns of the natural world
Collagraph Prinkmaking Workshop: Spring Flowers
I’ll be hosting my first Collagraph Printmaking Workshop of the year at the gorgeous Borrowed Light on Sunday 22nd March.
This four-hour session will take inspiration from the spring flowers in the shop. I’ll guide you in creating your own print using recycled Tetrapak cartons as printing plates. We’ll cover drawing, cutting, etching, colour mixing, ink application, and using a press. Limited spaces for this one, a small group of six.
New collection: Hellebores
Inspired by one of my favourite winter flowers, the Hellebore, I’ve created a collection of of original artworks, wooden decorations and botanical gift wrap. Perfect for flower lovers everywhere.
Exhibition: Magic Sticks
I’m thrilled to currently have drawings in Magic Sticks at Terrace Gallery, curated by my wonderful friend Pippa Choy.
Magic Sticks brings together artists whose practice is grounded in drawing. Pippa came to my studio and rummaged through drawers of unseen work, which sparked something in me when I saw them all laid out together. The piece she chose was drawn with a whittled stick, no less! I’d almost forgotten about drawing, and this experience has been a catalyst for returning to a daily practice, and for getting outside and reconnecting with nature.
The show runs until Sunday 1st February.
Terrace, 4-17 Frederick Terrace, London E8 4EW.
Open Sat-Sun 12-6pm or by appointment.
In The Studio
It’s been a slow, quiet January here. I’ve been cozied up at home, taking time to catch up with myself after Christmas and New Year. I was lucky to spend New Year’s Day on the beach, doing what my family loves best: rockpooling. It’s inspired me to continue working on this body of work I’ve been circling for the past year and I’m excited to get stuck in.
I spent time last week making inky energetic monoprints to get back into it and it felt wonderful.
